Description
MIDI Mimic is built for VJs who already have a working setup and want to push it further, not start over.
If you’re running Resolume on Windows 11, you’re good to go. Mimic uses Windows MIDI Services to create virtual devices, so there’s nothing extra to install.
This isn’t a subscription product. You buy it once, you own it. Updates within the current major version are free.
Alpha testers:
A limited number of free Alpha licences are available while Mimic is in early development. Alpha testers can get full access to all features and updates through to 1.X. Once the Alpha closes at v0.3, no new spots will be added. There is a Discord for the Alpha that will remain open.
Early Adopters:
Once I’m done with the alpha release, I will introduce an early-adopter price for everyone else ahead of a v1 release.
Built by someone who actually uses it:
I’ve been tinkering with Mimic for months, testing it at shows, picking apart the architecture, and refining the workflow. It’s a tool I built because I needed it, and I think you might too.
The online documentation has everything you need to get started, including installation, first-launch walkthrough, and a tour of the features.
* Rebuild your MIDI config: Duplicate your current Resolume mappings with all devices prefixed “mm”. Your existing mapping tied to specific devices carries over.
* Remap outputs: Change outgoing MIDI addresses in multiple ways, giving you flexible control over what gets sent where.
* Auto Addressing: Iterate new outputs without the labour using CC or Note auto-addressing, works with Groups.
* Shift-key systems: Set one Macro as a Parent to trigger behaviour changes in others. Create Ghost Parents that aren’t fixed to any one input for more dynamic switching.
* Cycle Cues: One button, different output. Every press cycles through your programmed cues in sequence.
* Macro Groups: Batch-configure similar controls in one go instead of setting them up individually.
* Toggle Groups: Build mutual-exclusion button banks where only one button in a group can be active at a time.
* Hard-coded Strobe: Send a strobing MIDI signal from any button. Built purely for the vibes.
